Gettin' through it.

We've had some brutal weather this winter. A bit of a break this week with temperatures in the 50's has been such a treat. Still have a few more weeks to trudge through until consistently decent temperatures though.

This is actually comment on the Chicago Wig straps you reviewed in 2009.

How are they holding up? A follow up post would be great. I am considering them and share the same concerns about the Holdfast metal bits digging into my feet.

Thanks

Hey sir/ma'am,

I am actually not using the Chicago Wigs anymore. They held up great though. The only thing to watch out for is laying your bike down, as the material will begin to fray if you do it often. (They are looped outside of the pedal.)

I had the same concerns as you as far as the metal buckles on the Hold Fasts, which is partly why I chose the Chicago Wigs. I've ridden a few friends' Hold Fasts briefly, and the buckles didn't bother me, but again, those were just brief rides. I still think that the buckle-less systems are a better idea overall.

There are a bunch of other strap companies out there right now. I haven't been keeping up with them, but check out Burro or Chicago Wig. Can't really go wrong with either of them.

Best of luck to you.
